Flipped

Today I reread a story in Lysa TerKeurst's book It's Not Supposed to be this Way. The story is called "upside down," and details a fictional conversation between God the Father and God the Son. The Son is questioning the Father's decision to assign the words "upside down" to the lady in question.

The Father's answer is lengthy, but insightful. He answers that the young woman will question why and that this question is precious. The question why, as well as all the disappointments she faces, will shape and mold her, and she will embrace her messiness as a gift from God. The dust of her life will be a beautiful masterpiece that will point others to God.

I relate very much to this story. Maybe you do too. It's hard when life seems flipped upside down for whatever reason. In those times, let's remember the One who knows us and loves us more than we know ourselves.
